Because play time is just as essential as class time for kids.
Playing is essentially the most important part of childhood that allows children to grow in every aspect of their lives, emotionally, cognitively, and linguistically. It is through play that children first learn how to make decisions, solve problems, exert self-control, and follow the rules. active8 provide youth of Canada the opportunity to develop these critical skills through the active8 Play Box.
Playtime is in short supply for most kids today and this could have lifelong severe consequences for developing children.
- Play gives children a chance to develop a connection to their own self-identified and self-guided interests.
- Children learn to handle their emotions including anger and fear during free play.
- Play helps children make friends and learn to get along with each other as equals.
- Play is a source of happiness. Children are happier when playing with friends than in any other situation.
